Ghajn Tuffieha — the sandy beach is located in a small bay surrounded by green hills, offering stunning views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. A long staircase leads to the beach, covered with fine red sand. There is parking on the mountain.

The beach is great for swimming in the summer: the water warms up well here, thanks to its location in the bay. However, in the off-season, strong undercurrents become more active. Lifeguards are on duty on the beach only in summer.

Ain Tuffikha beach has the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable stay: changing cabins, paid shower, rental of sunbeds and umbrellas, rental of water sports equipment, a cafe with Maltese cuisine, live music.

Ghajn Tuffieha beach is popular with both tourists and locals who go to the sea in the summer with whole families, so it can be quite crowded on weekends at the height of the season.

There are no hotels on the beach itself, the nearest one is located at a distance of about 900 meters on Golden Bay Beach.

How to get to the beach?

The surroundings of Ghajn Tuffieha are amaze with the number of attractions. Megalithic buildings, a good two dozen ancient fortifications, and the oldest House of the Virgin in Malta have been preserved here.

The megalithic temples of Ta-Hajrat and Skorba, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, are located a kilometer from each other and 6 km from Mellieha. The temples are poorly preserved to this day, but considering the time of their construction — 3200 BC — one can only wonder that they survived.

The Red Tower, or the tower of St. Agatha. It was built in the XVII century by order of the Grand Master of the Order of St. John for the defense of the northern borders of Malta and for communication with the island of Gozo.

The White Tower in Armier, the Aim-Zuber Tower in Mistral Park and the Ain-Hadid Tower in Selmun. Fort Campbell is located in Selmun.

Manikata Parish Church, built in the twentieth century. This is a modern and very unusual structure for a church.

Majjistral park Nature Park. It is located between two picturesque bays — Golden Bay and Anchor Bay. It is a typical Maltese coast with an established biosystem. There are several farmlands in the park. Year-round walks are organized in the park, as well as eco-activities, especially interesting for children.
