Mellieha is located in the northwestern part of Malta and is a popular place for a beach holiday. There are two beaches in the bay: Large and Small, both of them boast crystal clear water and a clean sandy beach.
The coast of Mellieha is washed by a clear transparent sea. For tourists, there is a large amount of space for swimming, sunbathing and water sports. A feature of the beaches is the lack of hotels in the immediate vicinity of the coastline, which makes the beach a quieter and more peaceful place than others. At the same time, there is everything available for a comfortable stay: sale of food and drinks, rental of umbrellas and sunbeds, toilets, parking, telephone, diving instructor and other services.
The beach is perfect for any number of people to relax at any stop — like a noisy beach party or a relaxing family vacation.
Mellikha is good primarily for its coasts and sparsely built-up surroundings. Therefore, if you love nature and hiking, you will like it here. Also here is the largest sandy beach in Malta — Mellieha Bay, where it is very convenient to relax with young children: this is a shallow bay.
The surroundings of Melliche in Malta were divided into three zones: Ahrash, Selmun and Mystra, Manikata.
They are slightly different from each other. For example, Ahrash is famous for its restaurants and hotels, and Manikita is famous for its historical attractions.
Beaches of Mellieha
The best place to relax in Mellieha is the famous beach of Malta – Mellieha Bay. Warm sand, shallow water, blue azure and the purest water attracts all tourists and residents of the village. Cafes, beach bars and discos are open here day and night, which will make your holiday bright and fun.
There are several more beaches on the shores of Mellieha, they are slightly inferior to Mellieha Bay in infrastructure, but they are great for recreation and water activities: Mistra Bay, Paradise Bay, Little Armier Bay.

Mellieha is the best time
The climate in Mellich, like everywhere else in Malta, is Mediterranean, with hot, sunny and dry summers and mild winters with passing rains. Average temperature in summer +26-+28 °C, the water temperature ranges from +21 °C to +26 °C. The best time to relax is June-August. In May, it's still cool to swim — the water warms up to +19 ° C, but in September-October, the velvet season comes on the beach — the water warms up to +25 °C.
During the year (mainly in winter) 530-570 mm of precipitation falls. The humidity is high throughout the year — about 75.8%.

The best activities on the beach
- Water and beach sports — There are excellent conditions for active recreation and sports — modern tennis courts, scuba diving school, horse riding school, here you can rent any equipment — for scuba diving, water skiing, and surfing.
- Entertainment and active recreation — In the first half of September, many musical concerts, art exhibitions, mass celebrations with fireworks and folk songs take place in Mellich.
- Bird Sanctuary — Ghadira Nature Reserve. It is located in the vicinity of Mellieha (Adira, opposite a long sandy beach). This is an artificially created swamp. As in Simar, migrating birds come here, which either stay for a short rest, or even nest here.
- Summer Fun Water Park – The water amusement park for children and adults in MellieħA Bay GħAdira consists of safe inflatable boats, obstacle courses, trampolines, slides and a volleyball court.
- Il-Victoria festival in Mellieha — This is the main holiday of Mellieha with orchestras, kiosks and a huge number of fireworks. It is very popular with locals and tourists.
- Food — In Mellich, as in any decent resort town, there are many restaurants and bars, cafes and pizzerias. Most of them are located either on George Borg Olivier Street (this is a kind of tourist center of the city), or at hotels.
- Cultural attractions – Selmun Palace, St. Agatha's Watchtower. You can also visit Birth of Our Lady Church, Grotto of Our Lady.
